e-newspapers

As a library member, you can use Pressreader to download digital titles directly onto your device.

To use this fantastic free service you will need a Perth and Kinross library membership, internet access and a compatible device.

Get started

There are just a few steps required before you can start downloading digital newspapers:

  1. Go to the PressReader website and click Sign In, then select Library or Group.
  2. Choose your library from the drop-down list (enter ‘perth’ in the search box to find Culture Perth & Kinross Libraries).
  3. Enter the number printed on your library card (and your PIN*) then click Sign In.
  4. Fill in the fields in the New User box and click Create my account.

*PLEASE NOTE: You will need to login with your library card number and PIN from 31st March 2024 due to a change in the way that PressReader authenticates users. If you have forgotten your PIN and we have a valid email address for you on our system, you can reset your own PIN here. Otherwise, please contact your local library for assistance.

SERVICE UPDATE: If you use PressReader to read papers such as the Courier, The Press and Journal or the Sunday Post, you may have experienced issues accessing your newspaper of choice since the beginning of 2023.

You can still access the current issue of the digital newspaper by visiting your local CPK library, on the day of publication. Log out of PressReader, then log in to ‘PKC Guest’ Wi-Fi at your local library, then log in to PressReader. However, if you wish to read the newspaper online from home, you will have to wait for 24 hours.

Unfortunately, these restrictions have been implemented by the publishers and are out of the control of Culture Perth and Kinross Libraries and PressReader.

We apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause.
