Whatever your event is we have comfortable and functional venues for hire situated in the centre of Perth. Perth and Kinross makes an ideal location for your event, situated in the heart of Scotland, with excellent road, rail and air transport links. The beautiful and historic City of Perth, perched picturesquely on the banks of the River Tay offers immediate access to some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery. Our venues offer a platform for a variety of events in some of Perth’s most iconic and historic buildings. From lectures to group meetings, and from interviews to book launches, we offer modern and historic rooms, complete with audiovisual equipment and disabled access.
AK Bell Library
This bright building is a great place to relax and learn about the history and culture of Perthshire. We have three rooms available within the building, that can cater for a variety of events and meetings, with free equipment and Wi-Fi available. We also offer video conferences in our venues, the perfect opportunity to provide high quality blended meetings where both in-person and virtual attendees can meet. The Soutar Theatre
This is a purpose-built theatre that can hold up to 125 people in raked, fixed, theatre seating. Thanks to the pleasant interior, professional sound system and adjustable lighting we can create a great atmosphere for enjoyment, work or learning.
The Sandeman Room
The Sandeman Room is named after Professor Archibald Sandeman, who bequeathed funds to build Perth’s first purpose built library in Kinnoull Street. The room is situated on the first floor of AK Bell Library in Perth and is a versatile meeting space that benefits from an abundance of natural light from the large west facing windows creating a pleasant venue that can be set up in a variety of ways depending upon your needs and is popular for AGMs, workshops, conferences and seminars. The Sandeman Room is located directly adjacent to The Mackenzie Room, and can be also used as a breakout room from our larger Soutar Theatre on the ground floor of the AK Bell Library.
The Mackenzie Room
Located adjacent to our Sandeman Room, this space is ideal for smaller meetings, interviews or focus groups and benefits from natural light. The Mackenzie Room comes complete with the technology for laptop presentations, internet access and data projection, and can be used as a small breakout room from our larger Soutar Theatre on the ground floor of the AK Bell Library.
Operating Hours
The spaces available to hire within the AK Bell Library can be hired out from Monday 08:30 am – 5:00 pm, and from Tuesday – Saturday 08:30 am to 10:00 pm (or beyond by arrangement).

There are two pay and display car parks on either side of the library with several accessible parking bays.
Perth Art Gallery
Perth Art Gallery, is a landmark building in the centre of Perth dating from 1824, and is one of the oldest purpose-built museum buildings in the United Kingdom, and honours the memory of Thomas Hay Marshall (1780 -1808). If you are looking for unique venue hire, Perth Art Gallery will give an impressive first impression to all guests. Whatever your event is we have comfortable and functional venues for hire.
Spaces for hire
The Lecture Hall
Our Lecture Hall can accommodate up to 90 people in a lecture-style setting, or 24 in a boardroom style, thanks to our retractable seating. With a pleasant interior, professional sound system and adjustable lighting we can create a great atmosphere for enjoyment, work or learning. The space benefits from high ceilings and is well ventilated. The Lecture Hall is also available to hire at night with our Sculpture Court to give a more adaptable space.
The Library
With ample space, the Library Room is ideal for smaller meetings, surgeries and interviews with the benefits of modern multimedia equipment. Twelve people can sit in a boardroom layout and twenty-four in a theatre layout. The room can accommodate a projector screen and other equipment for the duration of your meeting. This space benefits from high ceilings, natural daylight, and is well ventilated.
Sculpture Court
Our Sculpture Court and foyer is spacious, bright and airy and benefits from the unique and distinctive setting of Perth Art Gallery. The layout is easily transformed and it offers a flexible space for conference registration, catering, or private gatherings and drinks receptions. The space benefits from high ceilings and is well ventilated.
Operating Hours
The Lecture Theatre and The Library are available for hire from Tuesday – Saturday 9:00 am to 10:00 pm (or beyond by arrangement), April – October, or Tuesday – Saturday 09:00 am to 10:00 pm (or beyond by arrangement), November – March.

Facilities
While you are very welcome to bring your own equipment to an event you host with us, we also have a range of helpful items you may book for use at no additional cost. These include:
- Slide projectors
- Laptops
- Built-in LCD projector with automatic pointers
- Fixed and roaming microphones
Catering
We can provide a wide range of catering options for you and your delegates, from teas and coffees to big buffet lunches. We source our produce locally wherever we can and guarantee the top quality of your meal. Let us know of any specific dietary requirements your delegates have, and we will be happy to cater for them as well. We can also provide alcohol at events through our Occasional Licence (providing sufficient notice is provided: minimum 8 weeks).

All our lunches are served with complimentary teas and coffees.
Prices for light bites and refreshment options are available on application.
