Our well-known palaeontologist is back! In the first season of Curious Minds, Professor Steve Brusatte told us about Dinosaurs on Skye. He followed that with a talk on the story of Mammals. And now he’s back to tell us how birds evolved from raptor dinosaurs in the Jurassic into the creatures we know and love today. The story of birds is one of resilience and adaptability. Steve will tell that tale, along with his own adventures of collecting fossils and discovering new extinct species in this engaging talk for families and the general public. It will be followed by a signing of Steve’s new book, “The Story of Birds“.

The annual Curious Minds Lecture series, presented by Culture Perth & Kinross and the Perthshire Society of Natural Science is themed around “Contemporary Science in Scotland” and, over past seasons, speakers have covered a stimulating array of scientific topics from dinosaur fossils in Skye, through the human genome to black holes, gravitational waves and the science of consciousness.
