PHOTOGRAPHS AND POSTCARDS
We hold over 13,000 postcards, photographs and slides of people and places across Perth and Kinross, dating from the mid-nineteenth to late twentieth century.
Our largest photographic collection is a series showing the buildings of Perth which was professionally taken between the 1960s and 1990s by a local photographer, Dr W.H. Findlay. It documents many of the changes made to the city during this period and includes views of old streets and buildings which no longer exist.
Historic postcards make up more than half of the collection and can be searched in the library catalogue. The wider collection is currently being catalogued, so please ask staff if you are looking for something specific.
