Culture Perth & Kinross -

We have just launched our Winter 2019 events program for Culture Perth and Kinross.

Jump into Libraries this winter across our library network. From Alyth to Loch Leven, find out more about eResources, Code Clubs, Book Groups, 3D scanning and printing, the world of virtual reality and much more.

We’re delighted to be bringing exemplary works of art by Matisse, Derain and Peploe to Perth this winter, where they feature as part of our new Fergusson exhibition, our largest display of the works by JD Fergusson to date. In addition to this, we’ve partnered up the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine, to bring John Bellany’s The Boat Builders to Perth. This piece of work is the focal point for ICONS II: John Bellany, an exhibition dedicated to one of the most profound artists of a generation.

Moving into the new year, we’ll be building a conservation studio in our gallery as we treat museum objects and prepare them for the new Perth Museum based in City Hall. Join us for Conservation in Action: Saving the Perth Mummy, when it opens on 14th January.

We’ll be celebrating St Nicholas Day at Perth Museum & Art Gallery on the 14th December, with a free drop-in craft session. We’ve also got talks coming up Alexander Moffat and life drawing classes with Bruce Shaw.

The year-long legacy project, Perth and Kinross Remembers has commenced, and it will be celebrating the work of First World War centenary projects that took place throughout Perth and Kinross during the recent memorial period. Our Friends of the Archive Talks also return this November.

The ever-popular Perthshire Creates Christmas Design Market makes a return at the end of this month. Check out the listing to see who will be there over this fantastic FREE two-day event.

You can download the latest What’s On leaflet here (Link opens a 4MB PDF), and you can check out our full update to date listings here.

We hope to see you soon!
