Three additional locations across Perth and Kinross to offer library members the chance to get back into books.

Culture Perth and Kinross is delighted to announce that it is further extending its Click and Collect library book service to include communities in Aberfeldy, Crieff and Kinross. The move follows the successful launch of Click and Collect in Auchterarder, Pitlochry and the AK Bell Library in Perth.

The popular Collect and Collect service will operate from Breadalbane Community Library, Strathearn Community Library and Loch Leven Community Library. All three libraries reopened their doors last week with new public opening hours. From the 11th September 2020, customers will be able to reserve their books online via the library catalogue, make a request by email or call the dedicated Click and Collect phone line 01738 444949 to place their order.

Library customers will be given a collection slot to allow them to collect their reserved books. Collections start from 18th September at the libraries on Friday evenings between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

Chief Executive, Helen Smout said “We’ve been overwhelmed by the success of Click and Collect so far, and we are delighted to expand this offer further. The feedback we’ve had has been very positive to date. If you are unable to take advantage of our Click and Collect service, we also have an excellent e-library resource, which is free to all our customers and available through our website”.

Throughout the lockdown period, library members new and old were able to download free e-books, audiobooks and e-magazines, as well as accessing free online information resources including PressReader and Britannica Online. The e-Library offer proved to be popular resulting in over 12,500 books being downloaded.

The Click and Collect service gives customers in the local area the opportunity to return books, borrow more of their favourite books, and perhaps even discover some new ones.

The Click and Collect service must be booked in advance and customers can borrow up to 12 items for three weeks. All returned books are quarantined for 72 hours before being put back into circulation.
