This grade A listed building was designed by Perth City Architect, William Macdonald Mackenzie and operated as an Infirmary from 1836 until 1914 when it became a hospital for WW1 soldiers. Later, it became a tuberculosis centre and offices for the Perth Education Authority, before reopening in 1994 as AK Bell Library, the flagship library and archive for Perth & Kinross.
Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the library building and a chance to see some of the treasures of our archive and local history collections, led by our expert librarians and archivists.
