Curious Minds: “Microscopy in Scotland”

Culture Perth & Kinross -

Dr. Debbie Wilkinson, Aberdeen University, is currently the chair of the Scottish Microscopy Society – an organisation that brings together professional microscopists from all disciplines. Debbie, herself, works in the Microscopy and Histology facility at the University of Aberdeen. She is going to take us on a journey of discovery to learn how researchers across Scotland are using some of the World’s most powerful imaging tools to tackle everything from cancer to climate change.

Our annual Curious Minds Lecture series, presented by Culture Perth & Kinross and the Perthshire Society of Natural Science is themed around “Contemporary Science in Scotland” and, over past seasons, speakers have covered a stimulating array of scientific topics from dinosaur fossils in Skye, through the human genome to black holes, gravitational waves and the science of consciousness.
