Culture Perth & Kinross -

A Thing So Delicate tells the story of Scotland’s railways and the magnificent viaducts that were built across the country’s landscape. Constructed using only aggregate, cement and water, these elegant structures harnessed the strength of the arch to create works of remarkable utility, durability and beauty. Drawing on their new book A Thing So Delicate: The Hidden Voices of Scotland’s Mass Concrete Viaducts, authors Moira McPartlin and her husband, retired civil engineer Colin Baird, will take you on a fascinating journey through Scotland’s railway heritage, revealing the stories behind scenes we often take for granted.

Suitable for ages 16+.

Tickets can be purchased in person at Comrie Library or from Strathearn Community Library, Crieff.

This event is supported by the Friends of Comrie Library.
