Women on Wikipedia: Writing Women Back into Perth’s History

This International Women’s Day, join us in celebrating and preserving the stories of remarkable women from Perth’s history. The Perth Women on Wikipedia project invites you to research, create, and improve Wikipedia biographies of notable women using the library’s resources. Last year, we added nearly 10,000 words to Wikipedia, including valuable new sources of evidence found in the library.

Whether you’re a seasoned editor or new to Wikipedia, this workshop is for anyone interested in women’s history. There will be ample time for questions, with support for beginners and experienced editors alike. Bring a tablet or laptop to get the most out of the session, as editing on a phone can be tricky.
