1917 Total War with Mike Taylor
Join Mike Taylor at the Soutar Theatre, AK Bell Library for 1917 Total War.
After the trials of the Somme and Verdun in 1917 the Allies tried to break the Central Powers with coordinated attacks but one was knocked out of the war and two came close to defeat. The British Expeditionary Force took on the lion’s share of the fighting but more battles meant yet more casualties. In this talk Mike will give an overview of the highs and lows of a turbulent year both at home and abroad.
Talks are free to Friends members and £5 for non-members. Booking is essential. Contact the archive on 01738 477 022 or email email@example.com
