Volunteers are involved in many different ways in our service and play an important role, increasing our visitors’ enjoyment and understanding of our collections. We can provide an interesting experience for those with a few hours to spare each week.

Home Library Service Volunteer

Do you want to share your love of reading with older people in your local community? Become a Home Library Service Volunteer and deliver books to older people in their homes.

Royal Voluntary Service have vacancies for Home Library Service volunteers to work alongside CulturePK to provide a Books on Wheels library service to older people within Perth and Kinross who may be unable to use their local library. This service provides regular friendly social contact for the older person, an opportunity to share reading preferences and helps to combat loneliness and isolation.

This is an ideal opportunity if you want to make new friends, be part of a team, develop your skills and experience and contribute to enriching the lives of older people.

Digital Champions

Culture Perth and Kinross (CulturePK) are seeking volunteers for the role of Digital Champion in our libraries. The aim of this new role is to assist in the effective support, development and training of digital skills to members of the public.

Training and support will be available in return for a commitment from Digital Champions to provide a high level of customer care and to support CulturePK in the delivery of its aims and objectives.

Ideal candidates will be confident in their ability to help individuals to use computers and portable devices.

To become a Digital Champion you will have good communication skills and knowledge of a range of applications and devices. You will also have the time and commitment to support local communities on a regular basis for approximately 2 hours per week.

Successful candidates may be based at any of the 13 libraries across Perth and Kinross and travel expenses will be paid.
