New website gives user-friendly access to Perth and Kinross community events
Residents of Perth and Kinross now have easy access to community and cultural events thanks to the launch this week of a new website from Culture Perth and Kinross.
The colourful new site features easily navigable sections and 200 pages of the county’s museum and library happenings. The sections include a What’s On guide, a Learning section aimed at schools, Collections and information on libraries operating across the region. Lovers of key services such as eBooks and eMagazines will be able to access these and many other resources on the new site. .
The aim is to give quick and simple access to services and to bring information on Perth and Kinross’ 17 library and museum venues into one user-friendly site, said Culture Perth and Kinross. Users of the Perth & Kinross Council website are automatically redirected to Culture Perth and Kinross’ new site.
Designed by Kinross design and branding agency Flintriver, the mobile-friendly site at www.culturepk.org.uk also features a moving slideshow, a prominent search bar and Culture Perth and Kinross’ live Twitter feed. Flintriver’s clients include the City of Edinburgh Council, Police Scotland and the University of St. Andrews.
Culture Perth and Kinross is a charitable Trust set up in April to take responsibility for the delivery and development of museum and library services in Perth & Kinross and the new site also offers a facility for those who wish to make a donation to the charity.
Helen Smout, Chief Executive of Culture Perth and Kinross, said:
“We’ve worked hard to make our site easy to use for everyone, from those who are light users of the Internet to people who love their smart phones and tablets. There is so much going on across Perth and Kinross and we have lots more planned. With more than 600,000 visitors to our venues each year and a busy and exciting year ahead of us, we know this site is both timely and welcome.”
David Williams, managing director of Flintriver, said:
“We’re proud to have been involved in such an important project, from early stage discussions through to launch. In partnership with the CPK team, we’ve delivered an effective and easy to use information hub for the community.
