Welcome to our collection of online information resources for children free to members of Perth and Kinross Libraries

Choose from the list of children’s online resources below and sign up or login with your your library card number, or the last 10 digits of your smart card* (or National Entitlement Card*).

Wood of Words

Enter the magical Wood of Words (Opens in a new window) to discover games, activities, book extracts, author interviews and much more!

This exciting new online database has lots of activities and useful information on reading, writing and books. If you are a member you can join using your library card number. If you are not already a member find out how to Join the Library.

Get started

  1. Go to the Wood of Words (Opens in a new window) website.
  2. Click on the Join Wood of Words link in the Login section (top right of page).
  3. Enter your Library Card Number and select Begin Registration
  4. Choose a password and enter your name and an email address.
  5. Select Update Details to complete registration.

Once registered, you just need to enter your library card number and password to log in again.

When children ask: “Who can I read next?” or “Who writes like my favourite author?” the answers are here in Who Next…?  Writers of children’s fiction are listed with suggestions of other authors who write in a similar way, together with key book and series titles.
