Find out how you can keep items you have borrowed on loan for longer.
There is no charge to borrow books and you can borrow up to twelve at any given time for up to three weeks before returning or renewing the loan. Items can be renewed up to three times but then they must be returned to the library. Please note that items cannot be renewed if they have been reserved by another borrower.
You can renew items online using your library card number and a 4 digit PIN code.
If you don’t have a 4 digit PIN code, email email@example.com to request one. Alternatively, we can provide you with one the next time you are in the library.
For security reasons PIN codes are not given out over the telephone. If you require any assistance with your 4 digit PIN code, please contact us.
Renew items by email
You can email firstname.lastname@example.org to request renewal of items, please ensure to quote your library card number.
Renew items by phone
You can renew items by phoning your local library. View phone numbers and opening times hours for your local library.
What if I forget to renew?
Please note that any books returned after the three week loan period which have not been renewed will incur library charges.
If you’d like to be reminded when your library titles are due back, all you need to do is provide us with a valid email address to avoid incurring any unnecessary charges.
Just contact your nearest library, or log in to your online account with your library card number and PIN to update your borrower account with a valid email address (remember to tick the ‘Receive library notices via email’ check box as well) and get:
- email alerts before items are due
- email alerts on overdue items
- notification of reserved items as they become available
