Teacher Resources

Resources for use in the classroom as well as self-guided resources for the Museum, plus info about CLPL for teachers.

Collections Online

You can access Culture Perth and Kinross (CPK) museum and gallery collections online through two fantastic free resources, SCRAN and ArtUK.

SCRAN brings together resources from all over Scotland, including those local to Perth and Kinross. You can explore themed collections of items put together by PMAG and the Council Archive in the form of ‘Projects’, or you can explore wider collections relating to Perth and Kinross. For a full list of Perth and Kinross SCRAN resources visit our SCRAN Learning Images page.

ArtUK is the online home for every public art collection in the UK. You can register for free and create albums from CPK collections as well as other UK museum that link to the themes you are interested in. To view all CPK art online visit Art UK (Opens in a new window).

The resources below can be used with CPK collections online. Rather than exploring the museum, look through collections on ArtUK or SCRAN and complete the activities looking at the digital images available.

Self-Guided Activities

The activities below have been created to help your class explore their local heritage through the CPK collections. These activities are designed for use in Perth Museum and Art Gallery but most can also be adapted for use in the classroom using CPK collections online. If you are planning a self-guided visit to PMAG, we are happy to provide clipboards, pencils and paper for your convenience. Please let us know in advance if you require these provisions by emailing BAHamilton@culturepk.org.uk.
