Calling all creatures of the night – get in touch with your wild side as the long nights draw ever closer…
Read on to find out why you should join us for our second-ever adult only Museum Late as we transform Perth Museum and Art Gallery with music and light.
1. Eccentric indietronica meets wonky pop
If that description gets you excited, head down early to see a special performance from Glasgow band Featherwest.
The art-rock trio have played with Mini Mansions, the LA band featuring Queens of the Stone Age’s Michael Shuman (and involving Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys), toured with Chris Baio from Vampire Weekend, performed a sell-out show at Celtic Connections AND wowed audiences on BBC Scotland’s Vic Galloway show. Check out the video for their latest single Honey Bee above!
2. Silent Disco 🎧
What better way to spend your Friday night than dancing and singing along to your favourite phantom sounds in a silent room?! Grab your pals, grab some headphones and dance the night away.
Tip: watching without headphones is just as entertaining as joining in – just try guess what everyone is listening to!
3. Get painted
Get in the party spirit with Metamorface and their face and body art. Choose from animal prints to lacy designs inspired by Louise Bourgeois’ use of spirals, textiles and embroidery. Then you can look part as you wander round the ARTIST ROOMS: Louise Bourgeois exhibition during one of our tours that evening.
4. Literally get in touch with your wild side
This one’s not for the faint-hearted! Get your hands on creepy crawlies with ZooLab and their rangers. From snakes to spiders, snails to scorpions, this animal handling experience lets you get up close and personal with ZooLab’s creepy, crawly animal colleagues.
5. Local craft beer
And to top it all off, say cheers with one of Inveralmond Brewery’s craft beers.
All this and there’s more? There will be even more dancing to weird and wild tunes with DJ Simon Duncan (The Weekend Wind Down on Heartland FM) as well as expert talks on creatures of the night and tours of the Artist Rooms: Louise Bourgeois exhibition!
And don’t let the fun stop there… Join us at The Venue from 10pm onwards for the official Museum Late After Party.
With special drinks discounts and early entry for all Museum Late wildlings, you won’t want the night to end.
